We expect every regular, approved character to make a minimum of one in-character post per calendar month. At the end of each month we will be doing an Activity Check. Those who have not posted in-character within that month will lose their character, and it will be put up for adoption (or sent to the graveyard if an OC). We will take into consideration any out-of-character notification that you provide in the Hello/Goodbye forum that lets us know that, for whatever reason, you will be unable to meet the minimum posting requirements for that month (and please list all characters that you play) -- we may be able to waive that month's posting requirement for you. Also, if you find yourself unable to post to a thread because you are waiting on someone else, the Staff will take that into consideration and will likely grant you a "free pass" -- but, if you do find yourself in this predicament, we encourage you to try to start a new thread with someone else; if you get stuck, or if you are worried, please feel free to PM a Staff member. However, after 2 months of having made no in-character posts, your character will be put up for adoption (or sent to the graveyard if an OC) whether you have posted a reason for needing a leave of absence, or not. How might one get back, or re-adopt, their lost characters, you may ask?
Answer:
Unless this is your only character, we will ask you to wait until after the next month's Activity Check, after your other active characters have met the required number of posts. Then, please post a reply to their application thread, and the staff will consider your request.
However, if this is your only character, the Staff may approve the readoption immediately, and on a probationary basis (because we want you to be able to participate!): we will ask for one month of increased posting.
Or, if you have at least one other active character, the waiting period of one month (until after the next Activity Check has concluded) will be observed. After you've met the normal posting criteria for your other active character(s), then the Staff may approve the readoption, also on a probationary basis.
If you have lost more than one character due to inactivity, you will be able to readopt one at a time -- not all at once. Just like with new character applications, multiple readoptions will need to be spaced out one per month (after the following month's Activity Check) and will need to pass their probationary month's Activity Check with the same increased post count mentioned above (and explained below).
Details:
We will ask for one month of of increased posting for each lost character that you seek to readopt. All characters will need to make a total of 2 IC posts by month's end, rather than the normal 1. Should you succeed in your posting efforts, everything will go back to normal for the readopted character come the following month; on the other hand, if you are not successful in meeting the increased post count, the character will again be removed from your control.
Should you wish to pick up an additional character, the Staff asks that you first make the minimum monthly post count for the one(s) that you currently write for. Normally, we ask for a month between new character adoptions, per member; however, losing a character due to inactivity will extend this waiting period for a new character's approval by one more month. Alternatively, if you opt to retire a character, rather than have them lost due to inactivity, there will be no penalty.

UPDATE: Removed the following ~ Lead Roles, aka Major Canons, are expected to make a minimum of FOUR in-character posts per calendar month. Major Canons are: ALL incarnations of the Doctor (including MetaCrisis, the War Doctor and the Valeyard), Sarah Jane Smith, Captain Jack Harkness, the Master and Davros.

The April A/C has finally been completed -- I heartily apologize for the delay!
There may be a few members who may wish to request to re-adopt their characters (and I hope you do!). These characters have been declared to be inactive and have been relocated to the Graveyard and/or Adoptable folders -- just post a reply to their application's thread, and we'll go from there.
