The Doctor was glad to see that older him was getting along splendidly with Jamie; as a matter of fact, the friendly bickering reminded him of himself with the Highlander. Then again, it was himself still participating in the friendly bickering. It was good to see that some things never changed.
"There will be no kicking down of any doors," he told Jamie. The noise that would create would alert their captors, who couldn't be that far off, that their prisoners were escaping. A more subtle method was in store today, if he could only find his sonic screwdriver.
Thankfully, Zoe spoke up. He checked where she had said she saw him put something and sure enough his hand clasped cold metal. He took out his sonic screwdriver, a grateful smile on his face as he said, "Thank you, my dear Zoe."
Turning it on, he pointed it towards the lock, which came undone with a minimal amount of noise. He swung the gate upon, cringing a bit as it squeaked somewhat loudly. When he heard no footsteps approaching, he stepped outside of their confines and waited for the others to join him.

Before the younger Doctor put an end to Jaime's escape plans, the older put a hand on Zoe's shoulder, "She's quite alright. Or, she will be, is going to be. Tenses can be difficult when it comes to me." He patted her a few times before saying, "Don't worry my dear Zoe."
Then his younger self busted out the original Sonic Screwdriver. The Eleventh Doctor beamed as he spoke up, "The mark one! I haven't seen that in forever!" Chuckling, he made his way toward the door to check to see if they could make their escape now or if they should wait.
Jamie seemed confused at the little object, "Doctor, what was tha' li'l thing ye just used? Was that some kind o' fancy lock pick?"

Zoe looked between the two Doctors before sighing, "Well, alright then."
There was a point where she simply had to accept that understanding the Doctor was a bit beyond her, no matter how hard she continued to try. This was one of those times.
"It's a sonic screwdriver," Emilie answered Jamie with a fond smile, although Zoe thought it was a bit daft to be fond of a simple implement, even if it was sonic.
The sound of muffled voices could be heard from far down the hall, not approaching just now, but there nonetheless.
"Let's go," Zoe encouraged in a whisper, not noticing the fact the woman in red had still not stirred.

The Doctor was going to give Jamie an answer to his question but, before he could, Emilie chimed in. The Doctor didn't have time to explain the sonic screwdriver to Jamie any farther right now, nor if he did have the time did he expect the Highlander to know what he was talking about. Maybe he would try, nonetheless, as soon as they were safely on board the TARDIS again.
The muffled voices were still far away and they weren't moving any closer; that meant that they were safe for now. Still, though, the Doctor didn't want to stick around here any longer than they had to. He had to make sure that they were all accounted for. One...Two...Three...Where was number four?
The Doctor turned around and saw Emilie still sitting in the cell. "I know how hard it is to leave such a homely place, my dear Emilie," he said, "but we must go now." There was no hiding the urgency in his voice. He looked towards his older self. Surely he would know how to handle Emilie.

The older Doctor nodded to Emilie and said, "Come along Gunnar, we've gotta get going, things to do, people to see. On top of needing to resink this island. I don't mind letting the Sea Devils live out their lives, but they can't interfere with human history."
He looked to his younger self and asked, "Wouldn't you agree Doctor?"
Meanwhile, Jamie leaned in next to Emilie and Zoe before he asked, "It's weird when they start talkin' ta each other like that, eh?"

Emilie rose to her feet lithely, "Yes, you must get going. Why are you still here?"
She tilted her head slightly, eyes turning towards the older Doctor when he told her to come along.
Oh yes, that was right. They wouldn't want to leave her.
"Do you know how to resink it, Doctor?" she asked curiously.
"Well, we aren't likely to find out hovering about in here, now are we?" Zoe responded, reaching in and tugging the girl by her arm out into the hall.
"And as for you," she turned to Jamie in a slight huff, "At least now there's someone else around who understands what he's talking about. Goodness knows we can't count on you for that."

Thwarting whatever the Sea Devils had planned was on the 'to do' list today. Of course, if they did manage to re-sink the city, there was no guarantee that the Sea Devils weren't going to try and raise it up again, which meant diplomacy was also in order for today. If he and his other self could convince the Sea Devils that humans and them could live on this planet in harmony, then all would be well. If not, then...Well, the Doctor didn't want to think about the only other alternative right now.
"I couldn't agree with me more," he said, smiling a knowing smile at his older self. His previous self hadn't been the biggest fan of human beings but he was quickly learning to love them more and more each day.
He wasn't sure which one of them Emilie's question was directed towards but he was sure that he knew what his older self was thinking. "It's a work in progress," he answered her, "The best plans take time in coming to me." In truth, the Doctor rarely ever came up with a plan because plans were too restrictive and were hard to modify in the heat of the moment.

The older Doctor smiled to Emilie and said, "I don't have a definite answer, but if I could hazard a guess, and I'm sure my young self will agree, if there is a way to sink this city, it will likely be a big, threatening button. Or something like that." It seemed to him that the Sea Devils would be reasonable. Yes, his negotiation records weren't exactly stellar, however, if any of them had been like Sea Devil Bob. He'd named him Sea Devil Bob, by the way, there was a chance that they were friendly.
"I'm glad we agree with ourselves," The older Doctor started, speaking that way mostly trying to confuse for the sake of confusing. He grinned and said, "Zoe? Jamie? Emilie? Are we all on the same page then?"
Jamie leaned in toward Zoe and Emilie again, "They're talkin' hogwash. If we just agree with them, maybe they'll do all the hard stuff, an' then we can get outta here withou' gettin' hurt."

The Doctor's work in progress plans typically turned into border line impulsive methods that succeeded almost by sheer madness alone, but Emilie nodded understandingly nonetheless. But it was the Doctor she was most familiar with that garnered a smile.
"Big, threatening button. Check."
Moving away from the voices, Emilie hugged close to the wall. Wet stone that had been kept too dark to grow mold itched across the bright red of her jacket and grazed her skin.
Zoe, however, did not seem as convinced. Nor was she willing to just follow along completely blindly when she did not understand like Jamie. It wasn't that she didn't trust the Doctor, because she did. But this taller version was simply not making much sense to her.
"What parameters are you basing that assumption off of, Doctor?" she asked quietly, but intently.

The Sea Devils had to have raised their city from the water somehow and a big, threatening button was as good a way as any. They looked like simple creatures and the outside structure of their city seemed to support that but there was no telling what lurked inside the buildings. They certainly weren't going to find out just standing around here chattering about what they should do.
But Zoe and her logic mind were having none of it. They couldn't afford to waste any time explaining it to her. Although she had directed her question at the older him, the Doctor she was most familiar with decided to answer it. Well, not answer it; simply put it off so they could get moving along. "You trust me...us, don't you, my dear Zoe?" he asked her. "Trust me when I say we know what we're doing and I'll give you all of the parameters and logistics you could want when we're safely back aboard the TARDIS."
The voices that they had heard earlier down the hallway were starting to come their way. The Doctor didn't fancy the idea of being thrown right back into the cell again. "I think it's time we hurry along now, shall we?" Without waiting for them to respond, the Doctor began to walk down the hallway opposite of the direction the approaching voices were coming from.

The older Doctor was in agreement, "Agreed, we shouldn't stop here, not yet. C'mon then you three, you know the running drill. Time to shove off before our friends put us into another cell." He reached for Emilie, motioning for her to keep close to him.
Knowing The Doctors really wanted to get somewhere where they could think about things more clearly, Jamie did what he did best in getting Zoe to do as told instead of rambling on about her future logic nonsense. The kilted young man lifted her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Alrigh' Doctors, let's get movin'!"
The Eleventh nearly chortled, but instead looked ahead down an open path. He turned to his younger self with a smile, "Shall we go Doctor?"

There wasn't much time between Zoe reluctantly agreeing with the Doctor that they did need to get moving more than she needed answers and Jamie unceremoniously hefting her up to prevent any dispute.
"Put me down, you oaf!" Zoe hissed loudly. The only reason she hadn't shrieked in his ears was that she really did not fancy getting recaptured by the creatures the older Doctor had termed Sea Devils.
That did not stop the girl from beating her fist against his shoulder repeatedly as she tried to push out of his hold.
Emilie, wisely, said nothing. Not even to ask her Doctor for a piggy back ride, although she did strongly consider it. Instead, she skipped off after the younger incarnation, skipping every other stone so that she traversed the hall in a tight zigzag.
"Come along, Doctor," she murmured to her friend, motioning him and his younger self's companions as she glanced back.

The Doctor followed the corridor, not sure where it was going to lead to. At least it seemed to be going up, which was a good thing. The last thing he wanted was for them to be going deeper underground where escape would become even more impossible...Although, escaping wasn't exactly what they were planning on doing, was it? They were supposed to be looking for a way to get this city back underwater where it belong, along with getting a promise from the inhabitants to coexist peacefully with humans.
The corridor was straight with a solid wall on both sides...until they finally did come upon a gap in the wall. The Doctor stopped short of the door and motioned for the others to do the same. He peeked around the corner to see two Sea Devils inside standing in front of what looked like a very complicated piece of machinery. Was this what they were looking for? There was only one way to find out.
The Doctor turned back towards the others and held up two fingers to indicate what they were dealing with. He didn't need to say anything because his older self should know exactly what he was thinking. He would go in there, conveniently distract the Sea Devils, and the others would then come in and take the two Homo reptilians out for him.
Putting a smile on his face, the Doctor stepped into the room. "Excuse me, my dear fellows," he said. The Doctor walked over to the computer and bent over some of the controls. "You wouldn't mind telling me what this button does?" The Doctor pretended as if he was about to push one of them, causing the Sea Devils to converge upon him, their backs now to the door that his friends were hopefully going to come through very soon.

Before he knew it, The Eleventh's younger self had gotten away from the group, and now they were separated by a grouping of Sea Devils. The older Time Lord looked on as the younger now had found a button that certainly was striking a nerve with their would be captors.
The Doctor looked to Emilie and said, "Stay with Jamie and Zoe. Make sure they don't get into any trouble. Thank you Emilie." He nodded happily before sliding off to stand by his younger self. When he reached the shorter Doctor, the taller version spoke up, "Alright, looks like we've found your button, and that puts us in charge, doesn't it?"
There was a murmur, causing The Doctor to smirk, "Well then, can we make some arrangements then? Because I don't want this to end in tragedy. A deal can be worked out, I promise all of you. There are ways we can go about this, without issue."
Jamie set Zoe down in between himself and Emilie. He leaned out and said, "D'ya think they can do it? Tha Doctors? It looks like they may have these beasties' ears. Or, wha'ever they hear outta."

(OOC: Silurians or Sea Devils?)
Emilie had paused obediently as the younger Doctor indicated only two and headed inside, but once the wall of creatures stretched thick and the other Doctor joined himself that concession lapsed.
She cast Jamie an incredulous look as he sat down. Was he really just going to ride this out? Zoe seemed more in tune with her thinking, murmuring, “I don’t like this at all. What if that button doesn’t do what he thinks it does?”
“Well, the Doctor is a genius,” Emilie whispered back. “But I still don’t like it.” What if that button would just revive more of the beings? Or even if it was a sinking mechanism, something had to be done to the city to prevent it from being crushed by the pressure of the ocean, surely?
“That’s actually what worries me,” Emilie told Jamie. “He’s got their attention alright. But are we sure that’s a good thing?”
Looking left and right quickly, Emilie debated exploring the surrounding rooms. There might be something helpful there. But at the same time… what if that button really did do something nasty? And she wasn’t around to help the Doctors or his friends? She would never be able to forgive herself.
So she would wait. If only for a little time to judge how the scene would unfold.
