If you've created an OC, or further developed an existing Canon species, perhaps you'd like to open up that Species for others to use when they create a new character of their own. That's pretty much what this area of the site is for.
All Species templates (or applications) must still be approved by the Staff -- just go ahead and post them in the same area you would post a new character application. Once it's approved, we'll move it to this folder.
NOTE: This is not required for people who want to play an alien; however, it's fun, and we'd like to encourage our Playership to be creative.
NEW ALIEN SPECIES (Species name goes here)
Canon/Original: Pretty self-explanatory
Morphology: This should be pretty self-explanatory. What does a typical member of this species look like? What do they eat? Are they diurnal or nocturnal by preference. Does lead get them drunk, and is table salt a neurotoxin for them? Any physical traits and characteristics should be listed here.
Psychology: People are different, even two-headed people with tentacles and scales. But, all species tend to have psychological traits in common from the perspective of other species. Humans, for instance, are aggressive band-hunting alpha predators with an inquisitive streak. What would the average "man on the street" from this species seem like to an outsider?
Space-Time Coordinates: Where is their homeworld? Is this one of the many sentient species that have or will inhabit Earth, or do they come from somewhere else in space? Do they dwell on a single planet, within a single system, or have they spread to the stars? Do they exist at the same time as 21st century Earth, or do you have to travel into the past or future to find them?
Technological Base and Level: Technological level is tricky, because any species will pass through multiple tech levels at any given time. But, at the time this species is most likely to be used in a plot, where are they? Starships and death rays? Megascale engineering? Flint-knapping? Think "primitive or high-tech", and you'll be on the right path.
Technological base describes what 'path' their scientific development took, primarily. Electromechanical? Biological? Psionic? Something else? Go wild, but please keep the board's general rules about cool powers in mind.
