If you've only seen him in action on this board, you may have missed the fact that the Meddler is - based on his only two appearances in the television show - one of the Doctor's villains.
I mean, we're talking about someone that was going to drop a tactical nuclear device on William the Conqueror's invasion fleet in AD 1066. Sure, he had good intentions, but that just makes him a more dangerous villain. He thinks he's right, and that the ends justify the means.
So, we've got a Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Seventh Doctor. Who's up for a thread with the Meddler as the bad guy?

You know, at some point... the fact Emilie's two other love interests are 'villains' is going to come back and bite her. xD
ANYWAY. Lady Emiliegunnar and the incarnation of your choice? We could continue No More Lies? Or the thread with Victoria? Or start another, I'm not particular.
But we should totally thread these two.~

I'd be up for continuing No More Lies or the thread with Victoria, if Rallon and/or Victoria are also interested. I'd also be up for starting a new thread. Maybe that vacation that the "Doctor" promised, when The Master Chase opened?
Because what are the odds that something terrible would happen when a Time Lord tries to go on vacation?

When does anything terrible ever happen on vacation? Boats never sink. Planes never go missing.
... Bermuda Triangle? No, surely that would be too obvious. Hmnnnn. Atlantis, except supposedly it's a ship isn't it.

something like the Bermuda Triangle sounds fun. On the other hand, Emilie had suggested the Alignment of Exidor at the beginning of The Master Chase. So... maybe we combine them? Something pulls Mignionette off-course, and the "Doctor" and Emilie Gunnar find themselves trapped in a pocket universe, or something silly like that?

That works for me! Heh. Last time we tried going here worked so well; let's try again!
We'll make it there one day.
What shall be the trouble with the pocket universe. (Because we know there will be. -waggles eyebrows- It's a fact of life in these here parts.)

Maybe there's peoples from all different worlds and times trapped there, in a massive hulk of an artificial planetoid? Thousands of people - nobody knows for certain exactly how many. All of them, huddling away from the surface, away from the blazing unlight of the skin of the pocket universe? All of them desperately trying to stay awake, or to find people to guard them while they sleep?
Because they can only hear the Voices when they sleep...
Needs work, but I think there's something there.

This is just making me think of my incomplete plot with the Ennead, gaining a psychic foothold with people on the other side of the Void. adskf;ls moving on. Just had a moment.
I really like this idea! We would obviously need to work on the Voices. Who/what are they, what/why, etc. A world - using world loosely here - full of people driven to insomnia in an attempt to prevent from hearing something other. That something other, the Voices, must be one heck of a doozy. Are they terrifying? Do they compel those who hear them to do something? Do the Voices live on the surface in the unlight, a type of life that we cannot grasp or comprehend? shades of Midnight are seeping into my thoughts now, whoops.
There is definitely something awesome here!

"They tell us Truths. terrible Truths. They whisper, never letting us rest. Never letting us find solace in forgetfulness and gentle lies. They whisper Truths, and they judge us."
Now that I've typed that out, I rather like that. A 'monster' that makes you confront all of the wrongs you've committed, the great and petty hurts you've inflicted, and never stops.
The Meddler is in trouble. Well, except for the whole "sleeps an hour or two a month" thing.

I'm a little thread-swamped right now with just how busy I'm going to be over the next few weeks.. but! I would love to at least start the wheels turning on a thread with the Meddler. I'd love to actually pit Piper's brilliance against good ol' Worm Milk in a thread at some point in time ^_^

Strange temporal events attract the Meddler's attention. those spacetime locations that the Time Lords called 'fixed points" are his favorite. He likes to tamper with history, with cultures, and with individual people - all of it, he insists, with an eye towards making the civilization or species in question 'better'. Honestly, any plot that would work with the Doctor will work with the Meddler. Just expect it to go a little crazy.

Awesome! That can all totally work with Piper. Given her split role between the United World (gov't, generally bad guys) and Resistance (... good guys, but also bad guys later in the timeframe), she's got a lot of influence on events within her century. I imagine something will have been a fixed point somewhere. That would be fun to play with. Though tampering with Piper in general could also be fun. Her role is so pivotal to the balance and fall of these two major groups, and anything going wrong with that could really mess things up. And... Crazy?! Crazy's my middle name! At least when it comes to plotting

Emilie hasn't done much but will do, so I expect she'd get terrible migraines. xD It's only fair that there is also a compulsion on everyone to sleep. That's why they have to guard themselves so. The Voices with No Name and the Truths Above All. It's gorgeous. Emilie: You Time Lords. I don't think vacation means what you think it means.

"Vacation? Doesn't it mean a change form your ordinary daily routine?"
Oooh... what if it turns out this pocket universe is a prison? Emilie and the Meddler have to work that out, of course, but everyone there is a criminal of some sort. And the voices are both part of the punishment and part of the rehabilitation process. We could call it "Purgatory".

"Well, yes... but it's generally meant to be a relaxing change. Or at least, not a life threatening one!"
There are not enough words to express how much I love this idea. The 'raised Catholic' in me is saying, so does that mean praying for their souls does anything? or that there are 'Saints' to intercede? Bonus points for the prisoners thinking Bright Eyes and Emilie are saints because so funny.
Also, now I'm thinking of Stallone's "Escape Plan" as to how the prisoners get there. They just get 'disappear'ed.
