"Oh, of course! That's why I like him so well." The young woman replied, startling a burst of laughter out of Sarah Jane.
"You know that he is completely mad, right, Sarah Jane?" Emilie said this with the light ease of someone sharing a joke that is true. The implications of that, including the time factor, startled her the other sort of way.
"Why . . he is not." She said, with a defensive frown. "the Doctor is the kindest, smartest bravest man ever. What do you mean 'completely mad'?"
She shot a frown in the general direction of the control room, suddenly wondering if they really were the same Doctor.

For some reason, Sarah Jane was not amused. If anything, she seemed to be protective of the Doctor, as if Emilie had just insulted him when, in fact, she had only stated the truth. It was a very important truth, but perhaps one that Sarah Jane had yet to learn.
"He is very kind, and very brave. But that doesn't mean that he isn't mad. Most geniuses are, you know."
Ah well. She'd let Sarah Jane figure that out on her own time. The TARDIS had landed, and she could hear her Doctor's voice.
Running back with a slight motion to Sarah Jane, Emilie slid to the Doctors' sides.
"Do we have a 'thing' then?"
Things tended to be scarier than plans, but with a nemesis like the angels, their turnout might be needed.

She was about to make Emilie explain herself or apologize when they landed. Sarah Jane let out the big breath of air she'd taken to start questioning all in one empty puff. Disgruntled, she was still standing there when Emilie gave her the come-along. On the way, she couldn't help but say-
"Well, my Doctor isn't crazy, I don't know what you did to yours." she said, her head full of enough ire that she was declining to remember they were, exactly, the same Time Lord.
Sarah Jane came in on Emilie's heels, and went to stand by her friend.

What his future self said made the Doctor furrow his brow in thought after smiling at the compliment about his wisdom. "What does that mean?" he asked. "How can an image of something be...it?" He set the scanner to look all around the TARDIS, and the image slowly scrolled by on the screen.
Then their companions entered the room, and he smiled at Sarah as she stood beside him. "A thing indeed, miss Emilie," he said to the other Doctor's companion. "But before you go rushing out there, we'll be making sure there's no unexpected traps. We need to be extra careful here, especially with my-slash-our timeline being mashed up." He nodded at his Eleventh self. "So just have a bit of patience and we'll be on our way."

"That's true," The older Time Lord agreed, "Because there are two of me here right now, time is a bit more wibbly than normal. Since my encounter with my Fifth self years ago, I've found a way to keep things stable, but that doesn't mean that a wrong move can't blow a hole in reality."
He didn't want the exciting situation to overshadow the fact that it was also quite dangerous. Now he was dealing with the Weeping Angels centuries before he originally met them. Why couldn't he remember this? The Doctor wondered if his memory was going faulty. Was he really getting that old?

"Well, my Doctor isn't crazy, I don't know what you did to yours."
The mulish little comment of Sarah Jane's had Emilie giggling, although that probably was not the other woman's intention.
"I introduced him to flavored coffee!" she called back.
Sure, it had nothing to do with the fact the Doctor was simply a mad genius by default, even if Sarah Jane could not see that in her young Doctor. But, if that meant that maybe she could keep her special moment with her Doctor just as special? Well, why not?
Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey.
Then the younger Doctor called her 'Miss' Emilie, which was an interesting touch, and one that offset her enough that Emilie well and truly seriously listened. She knew this was serious business, of course. More so than even Sarah Jane or the Third Doctor most probably. Well, maybe not the Doctor. Meeting younger versions of the Doctor seemed pretty common place to her, but the Doctor was always surprised, and Emilie expected there was a reasoning for that somewhere.
Still, she wasn't complaining over the chance to meet Sarah Jane!
Taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly to demonstrate just how calm she could be when the Doctor asked, Emilie focused on the two Doctors intently. She was waiting to hear more about their mysterious thing, but knew from experience that it was best not to rush a thing. You had to respect the thing.

Emilie, she realized, had a spark. Had that something special that she saw in all the Doctor's friends. She was a bit rambunctious, a bit old to be playing the happy puppy, but Sarah Jane found herself charmed. She closely watched Emilie and the sprout of a Doctor, trying to figure out if she was joking or not. Somehow, she thought, not.
The Doctor(s) were chatting ever so casually about the possibility of blowing holes in reality. It was the first inkling in her life that maybe the Doctor was even more unusual than she had first though.
"Where are we? Are those killer Angel creatures right outside the door?"

"Oh, you've met our fifth self?" Third asked, momentarily distracted as he turned to his older version. "Very nice chap. Remember that business in the Death Zone on Gallfrey with the rest of us?" he smiled. But then he clapped his hands and turned back to the console.
"Where are we? Are those killer Angel creatures right outside the door?"
The Doctor gave his companion a reassuring look. "That's what we're going to find out Sarah," he said, then diverted his attention back to the scanner. "And...contact!" He stopped froze the image. On the screen was a winged statue with its face buried in its hands. "Interesting."

"Where are we? Are those killer Angel creatures right outside the door?"
"They-"
"That's what we're going to find out Sarah,"
The Eleventh stopped himself and allowed his younger incarnation to speak up. Sarah Jane was more familiar with him in this form, and not at all aware of regeneration. It was better indeed to allow the one she knew best to speak to her about such a dangerous situation, more comforting to learn from someone you know and trust than someone you don't
Even if it did bother him a bet, probably shouldn't have, but that was time travel.
The Doctor caught a look at the Angel on the freeze frame, "Ohhh, pause. Good thinking Doctor. I don't think they can do anything if they're a freeze frame!" He turned back to Emilie and said, "I was clever when I was him! Had my own lab, with Bunsen burners and beakers." He ignored the fact that he'd shown Emilie that very lab on more than one occasion.

"I've met much more than your fifth self," Emilie piped up proudly.
Of course, she really should be quiet and focus, like Sarah Jane was. Weeping Angels. Dangerous. And definitely not her preferred form of time travel.
The image on the scanner had her jumping back towards her Doctor, staring intently at the frame distrustfully.
"Doctor... didn't you say an image of an angel is an angel? And doesn't a frozen picture still count as an image?"
The last thing they needed was an angel just outside AND an angel materializing inside the TARDIS.

Time had tied it self up in quite the knot. She could understand why this younger version of the Doctor was crossing time lines with himself. Surely her own version of the Doctor was that much more wise for age. She was secretly quite proud of her Doctor, and this was clear evidence that he was so good, he even admired himself. And the Doctor had some high standards.
The more she looked at him though, the more she realized that one man simply could not be the youth of the other. Different bones. Different eyes. And why did this (disturbingly) handsome young stranger who called himself the Doctor, have such more age way back in the back of his eyes. And somehow, she had known her. Aging backwards? He was an alien and a time traveler, after all.
She had quite a few questions, but there were more important events in the cue, so she simply went over near Emilie, intent on paling up and getting her to explain that the hell she meant by "Five".
She got an instant's look of the Weeping Angel, suddenly all too clear on the monitor. She looked away. Site was it's aspect, she was no fool.
Still, she'd gotten a peek and it had chilled her, the strange, sad beauty of it. She liked those sort of aliens much more than the Squiddy kind.
"Too bad there is no way to get a film camera, and shrink it down small enough to take with us. No way to lug one with us though, we'll have to settle on four pairs of eyes."

"I've met much more than your fifth self," Emilie piped up proudly.
"Have you really?" the Third asked, distracted again as he turned to the future pair. "My my, you have had some adventures, Doctor," he grinned. "I'll be looking forward to them." Then he turned back to the screen as he heard Sarah Jane complaining.
"Too bad there is no way to get a film camera, and shrink it down small enough to take with us. No way to lug one with us though, we'll have to settle on four pairs of eyes."
Third just rolled his eyes. "As interesting a story it might be, Sarah, I don't think you'd want to bring an image with you, let alone one of the creatures themselves. What was it you said again?" He turned to his older version. "'The image of an Angel is an Angel'? But what does that...mean...?" Suddenly, he was moving closer to the screen, peering at and scrutinizing it.
"Did it...move?"

"I've met much more than your fifth self."
The Doctor looked to Emilie, pressing a finger to his mouth. Too much future information could be very bad for the timeline. But it was too late now, his young self was already interested in the subject of his own future adventures, the older's past.
"Have you really?" the Third asked, distracted again as he turned to the future pair. "My my, you have had some adventures, Doctor," he grinned. "I'll be looking forward to them."
The Eleventh squirmed a bit. Some of those future adventures were soaked in the blood of enemies and allies alike, not always fun and games. The Doctor smiled and nodded though, deciding to keep things light, "Of course, it's the sort of thing we do."
The discussion moved back to the angels after Sarah Jane suggested that a camera would be too big for them to lug around, "In any event, the Angels only remain quantum locked if you are looking at them. A camera is inanimate, so unfortunately, it wouldn't hold them at bay." His older self was looking at the freeze frame of the angel they had taken, "Let me see." He moved closer and looked as well, "Oh, look at that, it does move. Well then, best not wait any longer. Emilie, Sarah Jane, Doctor, remember, if you see one, don't look away from it. Keep your eyes on the Angel, alert someone else and for god's sakes, do not, and I mean do not look away. Don't even blink."

Ohhh. They’d looked away! The fraction of a second Emilie had turned her attention towards her Doctor’s shushing motion (Rawr! What was the big deal anyway?), no one else had been looking at the monitor.
Having experienced the touch of an angel, Emilie had no desire to carry a picture of one. She supposed that must be some mysterious journalism gene of Sarah Jane’s. A ‘choose your own adventure’ sort of deal. Lug around all your favorite alien monsters in your pockets – or camera as the case may be – and take them out when you get bored.
Actually, if that was the case, Emilie could guess why the Doctor liked her so well. Sarah Jane must be equally mad and just not realize it yet.
Her Doctor was giving instructions, but Emilie knew better than to just sit back and listen. Always take action, that was her motto. Well, it was an ‘in progress’ kind of motto, but never mind that. Falling further back towards the console, Emilie shut off the scanner with a quick twist, hoping the power would actually cooperate. It was only after the screen went black that she released the frozen image to allow the camera to be dynamic when it was turned back on.
“Come along, Smiths,” she said impishly. “Look alive!”
Her hand stayed frozen upon the door mechanism until the Doctor gave her the okay though. There wasn’t much point in delaying longer. Their TARDIS was still vulnerable! But she would wait until any final remarks or warnings had been made. And until someone had a good enough fix on the door so that this TARDIS would not find herself boarded as promptly as the travelers exited.

It was happening all rather quickly. But then, it always did. Rarely, however, did she know what was going to be on the other side of that door before they got there. Jumping directly into the fire were they? Well, Sarah Jane was as game as this brash Emilie, or would make herself be. However, maybe not quite exactly so game, for she left off trying to buddy up to the young woman, and went for the safety of standing beside her tall Doctor. She felt better instantly when she did so.
These Angel characters seemed so terribly, slashingly dangerous, but then, one need only look at them. That, even Sarah Jane could do.
"Right." she said, simply, business like, her finely hewn jaw set.
