The Eleventh put a hand on Emilie's shoulder, smiling. The theory about her being psychic was sound, but The older Doctor knew much better than the younger. There was so much to Emilie's life that didn't add up, that freeloader riding along in her, meeting and surviving The Valeyard.
Quite the incredible girl, The Doctor decided to pass it off as that. He was going to leave it and move along to the issue at hand.
Figuring out how the heck they'd traveled the Vortex in barrel.
The Eighth had turned on the machine and was looking at them, "My my, if it was any kind of radiation, I'd say you'd both be dead. No, not regenerated Doctor, dead."

Cheerfully deciding to ignore the fact their readings would probably make more sense standing farther apart, Emilie found herself leaning against her Doctor. It was incredibly reassuring to feel him so close.
She loved that feeling almost as much as the sheer elation whenever another problem was successfully solved.
My my, if it was any kind of radiation, I'd say you'd both be dead. No, not regenerated Doctor, dead.
Emilie watched the younger Doctor's expression curiously. "Why's that?"

"Oh, you mean I would have regenerated?"
"No, not regenerated Doctor, dead."
"Why's that?"
"The sheer amount of pure Artron Energy the two of you have inside of you combined could power a fleet of TARDISes." The younger Doctor was baffled, he'd never seen this much of the energy in one place in his entire life.
He rubbed his chin, looking at the duo, "You navigated the vortex in a barrel. You both realize how completely insane that is, right?"

They could power a fleet of TARDISes? Nifty!
Oh, wait. No. Dangerous. Dead and no regenerations was not of the good.
Still, that didn't stop Emilie grinning from ear to ear at the Doctor's question.
"Completely insane," she agreed, "And you love it."

"The sheer amount of pure Artron Energy the two of you have inside of you combined could power a fleet of TARDISes."
"Yes, I was afraid of that. The amount of energy soaking soap it will take to wash all of that off. Buying enough for myself will cost but for Emilie..."
"But, that soap isn't that very ex-"
He leaned in closer to his younger self and spoke in a false whisper, meant to tease Emile a bit, "She uses so much on her hair, she might as well be Tinkerbell."
"Oh, yes, I see." He turned to Emilie and said, "I'm afraid you'll just have to remain soaked in Artron Energies my dear. You simply have too much hair." He offered her a cheeky smile, then a wink. If there was one thing that the Doctor had always maintained, it was the ability to tease his companions a bit, even if they knew it was tongue in cheek.

“Energy soaking soap? You’re having me on.”
Of course, then the Doctors immediately started teasing her.
“I don’t use soap on my hair. As you may recall, I use shampoo and conditioner.”
"Oh, yes, I see." He turned to Emilie and said, "I'm afraid you'll just have to remain soaked in Artron Energies my dear. You simply have too much hair."
Flicking her hair back, definitely not the slightest bit bothered by this, Emilie glared briefly to her Doctor before sweetly asking the younger, “Are you telling me I’m just a battery? Or that you don’t like how I look?”

“I don’t use soap on my hair. As you may recall, I use shampoo and conditioner.”
The older Doctor exhaled upward, making some of his hair fly up just a bit, then he spoke, "So, that's what I've been using." He had no qualms with admitting that he openly stole Emilie's shampoo and conditioner. It was far more fun to play that game than to simply buy his own.
The Eighth Doctor was quite amused by the banter. Oh, what fun it would be to have Miss Emilie as a companion. Or, perhaps more? He honestly could not tell. Perhaps it was, perhaps it wasn't best to take the long road and experience it firsthand.

Oh, that's how she was going to play it, cheeky little thing, she was. The Doctor smiled a bit and said, "Are you a battery? You are a very lovely looking battery. Certainly the loveliest of batteries I've ever seen in all of my lives Emilie."

Her Doctor's quip had almost made Emilie lose her faux sternness, but she held firm. On the surface at least, though she was sure he could see the glimmer in her eyes. After all, Emilie knew him well enough to dance like this with him at length.
The younger Doctor's flattering dodge out of her line of questioning, however, earned a brilliant smile.
"You're quite nice too, Doctor. Thank you."

"You're quite nice too, Doctor. Thank you."
Normally, The Doctor would interrupt, he tended to get quite jealous when someone was giving Emilie attention other than himself. Though in this case, it was himself. A version of himself that probably could use all the enjoyment he could squeeze out of life for that matter.
So, he'd let it slide this time. It was still technically himself making the compliment.
Coughing falsely, The Eleventh Doctor continued, "Well, we know that the Aurora that flashed in the sky likely was the culprit responsible for bringing Emilie and myself. So, we'd best get out into the city and make sure that no other travelers have slipped on through."

Looking to her Doctor, Emilie leaned up on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek before pronouncing, "Don't forget you owe me more conditioner."
Skipping over to the controls, Emilie proceeded to kiss the younger Doctor in the precise same way.
"Let's get going then! Step lively, my dears. To the city we go."

And that was all the evidence he needed. Cute, the younger Doctor decided. It was alright, at this point, he'd seen it all. And on top of that, he might have kissed a human girl too. Perhaps, he'd been the trend setter. It wasn't impossible. There, were a few exception, it seemed the older he was, the more he liked to flirt.
Oh, his next lives would be interesting indeed. The Eighth was all smiles as Emilie led the troops out of the musty lab, through the hallway. But, not before giving him a peck as well.
She was off, and he was smirking, "My my. Doctor, you have become quite the dog, haven't you."
"Oi! That's your fault, and you know it."
"Tetchy. It's not as if we haven't married before. Anyways, best we follow along, before Miss Emilie becomes suspicious."

"Miss Emilie can hear you!" the girl singsonged happily. She didn't much mind they're banter, it helped that she hadn't been paying that much attention. But hearing one's name did rather draw the ear.
"Are we going by TARDIS or by foot? Oh please say by TARDIS. I haven't seen this version of her console before! And it would be so fun."

When she called back to them, the duo both smiled, keeping their laughs silent before following Emilie through to the way out. They had to get moving then. They reached the library when Emilie requested going to the city via TARDIS.
The Eighth Doctor thought it over before smiling and nodding his head, "I don't see why not. We'll go by TARDIS, it couldn't hurt."

The younger Doctor's agreement earned him an immediate hug. Emilie wasn't in a hurry to move either.
Not until her Doctor came closer and she could turn her attentions to him anyway.
"Will you explain the differences? Or maybe I should just watch and try to figure it out...."

The Eighth chuckled as Emilie hugged him, "You really do enjoy traveling in the TARDIS. The only other person who ever was that thrilled about it was, well, me."
The Eleventh Doctor cleared his throat soon after, trying to get things moving again.
"Right well, better explain the differences."
Releasing Emilie, the younger Time Lord started, "The buttons are practically identical to the previous console of my Seventh incarnation, he, er I, changed it while I was sill in that age.. I'm aware you haven't met him yet. But, my newest addition, it's a counter. It keeps track of the year and era I'm in. Well, occasionally."
