"There's no place like home!" Emilie chirped in happy agreement. For some reason her Doctor seemed a little on edge with her hugging his younger self, so Emilie saw fit to grab his hand and drag him in to listen to the brief little tour.
But, my newest addition, it's a counter. It keeps track of the year and era I'm in. Well, occasionally.
"I think she looks splendid," Emilie pronounced.

"There's no place like home!"
When Emilie returned to him, The Doctor let her listen to his younger self. The Eighth had noticed it as well. My my, the younger Time Lord mused. Someone was in denial about being smitten wasn't he. How very interesting for days to come.
No judgement! The Eighth kissed humans first. He started it.
"I think she looks splendid," Emilie pronounced.
The Eleventh smiled, "Doesn't she always?"

"Doesn't she always?"
"You both do," Emilie answered, feeling that, in fairness, it was true and ought to be pointed out. "Now, let me see if I've got the hang of this...."
Running her hands across the console, Emilie began the initial execution for a departure, although honestly the safety checks took the longest. And hey, the Doctor's counter came in handy. Between that and the reassurance of the TARDIS, Emilie was fairly sure she'd set it up right.
"Doctor?"
With a new version of the console, Emilie would rather have him check her work and correct than end up dragging them to the wrong side of the galaxy.
Besides, she wanted to impress the younger Doctor.

The Eighth Doctor smiled lightly at the compliment. She was quick with them, and it did not go unappreciated, not at all. Then, she began going over the controls, "Oh my, so I've begun to teach people how to fly the TARDIS? Wonderful. I would like to know, have I learned to fly the TARDIS?"
"Oh, ha ha. Very clever."
"Sorry sorry, we have to laugh at ourself now and then."
"Doctor?"
"You're doing wonderful Emilie, steady on, just stay away from the time control. The green button, in case you were wondering."

"My Doctor taught me almost everything I know," Emilie chirped proudly. And it was true, too. After all, she had technically spent half her life with him, even if neither of them realized that yet.
"Well, what my mother didn't."
You're doing wonderful Emilie, steady on, just stay away from the time control. The green button, in case you were wondering.
"You have a button that controls time?" Emilie gaped a little. "Oh, outside the TARDIS, do you mean? Yes, I suppose it wouldn't make any sense to change that."
Twisting off the brake, Emilie started the sequence for the TARDIS to dematerialize. It might not take very long, or it might take half an hour, it all depended. The Vortex was very wibbly wobbly, Emilie had learned.
Turning back to the Doctors, Emilie grinned brightly before quipping, "Anywhere in time and space, anything that has been or will be, only one condition. It has to be amazing."

"My Doctor taught me almost everything I know."
There was just a moment of a prideful glance as he watched Emilie pilot the TARDIS with precision. Oddly enough, she was doing quite well, rather like River Song. Curious, but he let it slide for now.
Of course, his younger self explained the intricacies of his console while Emilie continued along quite well. She then shot back a line towards them, "Anywhere in time and space, anything that has been or will be, only one condition. It has to be amazing."
The Eighth beamed, "I quite like that line."
The older Doctor laughed, "I taught her that one!" He paused, "Though, I suppose now, she taught it to you, which means, she taught it to me. This is why crossing timelines is never fair!"

Giggling, Emilie skipped over to her Doctor and hugged him tightly.
"Don't worry, boss. You'll forget soon, you almost always seem to forget meeting me." There was a definite sulk there. "And then, it will be just like you had always come up with it yourself."
Finally letting go, she skipped over to the younger Doctor.
"What brought you over to Niagara Falls to begin with anyway? Sight seeing?"
Well that's what they'd been doing.

"Don't worry, boss. You'll forget soon, you almost always seem to forget meeting me."
"Do I? Unfortunate, but I suppose as long as you're with him, er me, any time you leave, time sorts itself out. She a clever girl, this ship. She knows what I can and can't remember for the sake of time itself." He sighed, "Sometimes I wish I could bypass it."
Emilie let his future self go before moving back to him as she asked him a question.
"What brought you over to Niagara Falls to begin with anyway? Sight seeing?"
"I'm always sight seeing," He cracked a smile and said, "I was on my way to the past, well, further into the past, but I decided to stop here. I love how the waterfall lights at night." He chuckled, "I suppose it's good I came, look at this wonderful adventure we have staked out now."

"It is unfortunate." Emilie outright pouted there. "I have to start over with you all of the time! Except for my Doctor, who half the time seems to know more about me than I do."
She eyed Eleven briefly before realizing she had actually called him 'hers' out loud, and immediately diverted her attention towards the younger Doctor who had confirmed her hypothesis.
"I suppose it's good I came, look at this wonderful adventure we have staked out now."
"Very true!" Emilie chirped. Seeing the time rotor still, she clapped her hands excitedly. "We've landed! Marvelous."

"I have to start over with you all of the time! Except for my Doctor, who half the time seems to know more about me than I do."
If The Doctor didn't know better, he'd have claimed he was everyone's Doctor. However, he did know better, and knew exactly what Emilie meant. Well, that was just fine with him. She was his Emilie after all. Even if he'd met her when he was younger, and then again (which he really ought to get around to telling her about).
"I suppose it's good I came, look at this wonderful adventure we have staked out now."
"Very true!" Emilie chirped. Seeing the time rotor still, she clapped her hands excitedly. "We've landed! Marvelous."
"Alright then everyone!" The Doctor announced happily, "We ought to get on the move. We're on the Canadian side." The Eighth Doctor blinked, then looked to Emilie, "Does he even have a plan?" The Eighth liked to at least have an idea of what they planned on doing.

The younger Doctor looked concerned, and that immediately drew Emilie's attention. Patting the man's arm consolingly, Emilie reassured him, "We have a thing. It's much better than a plan. Come see?"
Smiling as she met his eyes, Emilie took the younger Doctor's hand and coaxed him towards the door.
"Step one, open doors. Step two, observe," she paused. "Step three is usually run."

The Eleventh was nearly out the door by the time the Eighth asked if they'd make a plan or not. Emilie walked to him and gave him a pat.
"We have a thing. It's much better than a plan. Come see?"
He thought a half moment to refuse, but Emilie looked so pleased, her smile was infectious. He couldn't disagree with anything she asked of him, "Alright then. Show me my future ways."
"Step one, open doors. Step two, observe," she paused. "Step three is usually run."
"Step three is always run!" The Eleventh called out from ahead of them.

The younger Doctor didn't seem quite sure what to make of himself, but secretly, Emilie didn't think he should be very surprised.
After all, he never seemed too very different, no matter how young he was when Emilie met him.
"Never say always or never!" Emilie called back. Grinning to the younger Doctor, she squeezed his hand. "I think time takes them as a challenge. Let's catch up with you, eh?"
Tugging him forward, the girl happily trailed after her Doctor as they stepped out to explore the town.

"Never say always or never!"
A generous chuckle escaped from the older Time Lord as he saw Emilie conversing with his younger self. Oh my, it was getting harder not to explain himself to her, but not yet. He was still trying to figure Emilie out, he couldn't go telling her he wanted to have her stay forever until after she'd at least traveled with his Tenth incarnation.
The Eighth was warming towards the girl as well with each passing moment. He'd liked her from the start of course, because he trusted himself, but he also could tell that she was a bit of an enigma. He'd figure it all out soon enough.
"Right behind you Emilie!"

If Emilie had known the younger Doctor's thoughts, she would have assured him that yes, of course he would figure it all out. In a few lifetimes. She didn't even understand herself half the time, and she could tell by the look on her Doctor's face that he sometimes found her a bit of a puzzle as well.
Still, she wasn't going to let go of this younger Doctor's hand until he let go first. There was something very exciting about him.
"Allons-y!" Emilie chirped, dashing headlong, figuratively speaking at least.
So far, the city was quiet. Or at least, as quiet as any city ever got. But there was a strange moaning, growling noise. As soon as she could hear it clearly, Emilie stopped dead still (and braced herself in case the Doctor ran into her), turning to face the direction of the sound with a puzzled expression.
